FAQ
Why Soy?
Soy wax is a natural product processed from the seeds of the soybean.
Soy wax has a cleaner burn and doesn't let off any harmful fumes. It has a 30 - 50% longer burn time than your normal standard paraffin wax candle which means you get better value for your money.
Why does my candle appear to have pulled away from the glass?
The term used to describe this is called 'SHRINKAGE'.
Soy wax has a low melting temperature and is very sensitive to temperature changes. But rest assured this does not affect the performance of your candle in any way and is merely a cosmetic effect.
What is Frosting?
Frosting is a term used to describe the white coating/spots that may appear on the glass of your soy candle.
Frosting is not a flaw. It is a perfectly natural effect of using soy wax and it does not affect the performance of your candle.
All soy waxes frost and is a sign that you have purchased a 100% natural soy wax candle.
Frosting does not affect the scent throw or the burning properties of the candle.
Are your candles 'Triple Scented'?
Triple scented is in fact a myth.
All our candles are filled using the optimum amount of fragrance that our soy wax will allow. You may find that one scent may be stronger than another but this is not due to the amount of fragrance used, but in fact due to the fragrance itself.
Candle Care
Never leave your candle unattended.
When burning your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for at least 2 hours before extinguishing. This will provide a sufficient 'melt pool' which will give your candle a 'memory burn'. If your candle isn't given a proper memory burn (meaning your candle is burned for too short a time) it will burn down the centre (tunnel burn) and it will not give off a good scent throw.
After each burn it is advisable to trim your wick to approximately 1/4" (6mm) this ensures that you have a clean burn and a consistent flame.
Always store your candle in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
